Visionary Cycle Network for Warwick District
Cycleways, Clean Air Warwick and Clean Air for Leamington Spa are promoting a Visionary Cycle Network for our towns and villages. This manifesto presents a high-level strategy that can inform the planning, funding and maintenance of existing and proposed cycle routes. Working with relevant partner organisations, we will lobby for increased investment, faster roll-out and higher priority for cycling in Warwickshire and Warwick District.
Hear Cycleways Mark Lever talking about our Visionary Cycle Network on BBC CWR
To create a network of cycle routes for all abilities, linking the places people want to travel, that are easily followed, of a consistent high quality, safe and encourage and enable much more cycling and scooting.
The Visionary Cycle Network has been developed taking into account existing and planned routes, including those put forward by Warwickshire County Council, Warwick District Council, and Kenilworth Town Council.
It is intended to support and enhance ongoing route planning, rather than replace it. There is already a lot of excellent work going on and Cycleways are grateful for all the input provided when preparing this manifesto.
Not all existing routes are shown and it is not intended that the map be used to aid navigation. No liability will be accepted for the accuracy of the plans and technical work should be based on independent route surveys.
This will help to deliver:
• A greener and more sustainable transport network
• Improved health and well-being
• Quieter, cleaner and happier places
We will build on the high level strategy set out by national Government, Warwickshire
County Council and Warwick District Council and importantly make it clear how we want
our money to be spent.
